Objective of initiative

The project promoted scientific cooperation by strengthening bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Norway. In this project, two entities were involved: Agrovyzkum Rapotin Ltd. (Promoter) and the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research – NIBIO (Partner). The project included two short-term visit (9th – 13th May 2022 and 4th – 7th July): 1st short-term study trip of the Czech research team to the research station of the Norwegian research instutute NIBIO in Kingdom of Norway and 2nd of the Norwegian partner to the Agrovyzkum Rapotin in the Czech Republic.

Brief description of initiative

This project is based on interdisciplinary collaborations giving of skills and knowledge in the fields of agronomics, chemistry and new technologies. The bilateral cooperation between both partners, Agrovyzkum and NIBIO, will especially consist of the demonstration of measurement of carbon content in soil and its distribution in short-term and long-term grasslands, exchange knowledge and put in practice as well. In addition, understanding how climate change and biodiversity both can affect the rate of C sequestration, interactions among farming practices, climate change and C storage (as climate have an effect on soil processes), opportunities for C sequestration and how to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as the other aspects of climate will be discussed. The main objectives of the project will be included:
